Transfer Station Rules
- The South Bristol Transfer Station is for SOUTH BRISTOL RESIDENTS ONLY.
- Resident User Pass is required for bagged garbage and may be purchased from Town Clerk for $30.00.
- Each card allows 50 bags
- All trash must be securely bagged.
SOUTH BRISTOL RESIDENTS:
IN ORDER TO CUT DOWN ON THE USE OF THE TRANSFER STATION BY NON-RESIDENTS AND RESIDENTS WITHOUT A PURCHASED TRANSFER STATION PASS
THE SOUTH BRISTOL TOWN BOARD HAS IMPLEMENTED THE FOLLOWING:
A MANDATORY “TRANSFER STATION STICKER” PLACED ON YOUR WINDSHIELD FOR IDENTIFICATION. ALL RESIDENTS THAT USE THE TRANSFER STATION ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE BY AUGUST 15TH.
RESIDENTS CAN VISIT THE TOWNCLERK AND PICK UP THE TRANSFER STATION STICKER MONDAY – THURSDAY 9AM – 4:30PM OR SATURDAY 9AM – NOON.
WE WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE THE NECESSARY CHANGES TO ENFORCE THE RULES OF USE AT THE TRANSFER STATION.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE EMPLOYEES AT THE TRANSFER STATION IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A PASS OR STICKER.

Regular Hours (ALL YEAR):
Saturday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Sunday 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
SUMMER HOURS: JUNE THROUGH SEPTEMBER
Wednesday 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Construction and Demolition (C/D):
A separate container has been installed for all metals EXCEPT refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners or any products that contain refrigerant.
Town Residents may bring C/D to the Transfer Station in a trunk-load at no cost (4 x 3 x 2). Anything over that amount has a fee attached and Town Residents will need to purchase a C/D permit from the Town Clerk.
Acceptable Items:
Furniture, box springs, mattresses, small amounts of building materials (wood, drywall, masonry products), carpet.
Not Acceptable:
Trees, brush, leaves, soil, stumps, foul wastes, septic tank liquid, hazardous or industrial wastes (partially filled paint cans, etc.), rubber products (tires, tubes), asbestos waste, roofing materials, bottles, cans, metal, plastic bags, no refuse or garbage allowed.
Recycling Guidelines:
Acceptable Items:
Cardboard, clean boxboard (shoe boxes, cereal boxes), office paper, magazines, newspapers, junk mail, envelopes, file folders, computer paper, card stock paper, aluminum cans, tin cans, glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles #1-7.
Not Acceptable:
Food waste, styrofoam, plastic bags, ceramics, printer cartridges, cell phones, batteries, computers or other electronics, glassware (Pyrex, light bulbs, window glass).

Hazardous Waste can be disposed of through Ontario County on Hazardous Waste Collection days. Please see the County website https://www.co.ontario.ny.us/
